Golden Network.tv has added five new episodes of “Political Correctness and Other Forms of Insantiy!” featuring Steve Solomon.

A native of Brooklyn, Steve grew up in the multi-ethnic neighborhood of Sheepshead Bay. This was the perfect training ground for a dialectician and comedian. Steve learned at an early age how to use his gift for imitating accents to his advantage.

Using humor, dialects and sound effects in teaching, Steve was real life version of Gabe Kaplan’s “Welcome Back Kotter.” Eventually, Steve became an AP Physics HS teacher, College lecturer and an Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools on Long Island, New York.

He left his academic career behind and turned his attention to his latent love of making people laugh. As Steve puts it, “I decided follow my heart and become an impoverished comedy writer and performer.” Steve’s show, the three-time award winning: My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish and I’m In Therapy has met with rave reviews to sold out crowds throughout the country and, with over 8700 performances, became one of the longest running one-man comedy shows in Broadway history.

With the shutdown, Steve turned his attention to writing a new book (also called “Political Correctness and Other Forms of Insanity!”) available on Amazon.

Now, he’s bringing select essays from his new book to Golden Network.tv.

The Hangman is a powerful short movie that has found a cult audience as a parable for our times.

Based on a poem first published in 1954, written a few years before by Maurice Ogden, it was turned into this powerful short movie after Les Goldman heard a reading on Los Angeles radio. Goldman was a lifelong production manager during Hollywood’s golden age. He died at 70 in Santa Cruz, California, back in the 1980s.

Goldman’s son says his father’s imagination wouldn’t let go, and he pursued making this movie, raising a hundred or two at a time from people he’d shared his vision with.

Golden Network, a new channel on ROKU TV sets, is proud to announce it is now streaming the complete Emmy-award winning documentary series about America’s effort in World War Two, “Victory At Sea.”

In 1952, when NBC originally produced and aired the series, America was just a half-decade out of World War Two, and the collection of film from all sides of the war had mostly not been seen before. But the production was so well-received that it ran in local syndication through the middle-1960s.

Music aficionados also enjoy the soundtrack – it was co-written by Richard Rogers while he was working Broadway for his day job.
